On 16 May, The Remnants of You, the debut feature film by Gala Gracia, opens in theaters across Spain following its premiere at the Málaga Film Festival. Inspired by episodes from the director’s own life, the film stars Laia Manzanares (Internal Affairs) and Ángela Cervantes (Rage), alongside Natalia Risueño (Red Flags), Portuguese actor Ruy de Carvalho (The Mysterious Case of Lázaro Lafourcade), and a special appearance by Anna Tenta.
Gala Gracia is an acclaimed Spanish filmmaker best known for her short films The Colour of Thirst, which received more than twenty awards at national and international festivals, The Wall, awarded in Mexico, and Evanescent, co-directed with Guillermo Garavito and nominated for the 2024 Forqué Awards. She has also written and directed non-fiction projects and combines the development of her own work with casting for films and television series such as Maixabel, The Unit, The Promise and One Hundred Years of Solitude.
